Viral Marketing

 

Definition:  Viral marketing is a type of digital marketing technique that encourages, influences, inspires users to spread or share the message with other users which could lead to multi-fold sharing making the content Viral.

Mobile Marketing

 

Definition:  Mobile marketing is the process of Attracting mobile users by Advertising on Mobile Applications.

 

Why Do we do it: To increase brand reach, visibility, and traffic.

How do we do it: Reaching a specific audience on their smartphone, tablets through responsive websites, SMS, MMS or mobile applications.

Let us break this word Digital Marketing into 2 words.

Now, Before jumping into Marketing.

Let us try to figure out what is Market

The market that we know is a regular gathering of people for the purchase and sale of provisions, livestock, and other commodities.

But that is for the general world, for the Marketing World. The market is something different.

In terms of Marketing,

Market is the demand of the product or a brand.
That is,
How many people are out there to buy or can buy a particular product or service is called the market for that product or service.
Now, let us see what Marketing is:

Marketing:

 

In one line I define Marketing as “Systematically communicating your value to people who can buy it“.

 

Systematically – Regularly and consistently.

Communicating – Passing a Message or Let them know. – How to Pass Message?

Your value – Advantages/Features of your Product/Service or brand.

People who can buy it – Nothing but your Market.

 

The communication channel is what defines what type of marketing we opted for:

Earlier Days  – Boards, Hoardings, Wallpapers, Newspaper advt. Tv Adds were the key communication channels for Marketing.

But,

In the Digital World – Internet World?

Websites, Mobile Apps, Google, YouTube, Emails, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Google+, Instagram, Pinterest, Whatsapp are used as the communication channels by the companies to reach its customers. 

So, these platforms mentioned above forms different types of marketing techniques like

Search Engine Optimisation, Search Engine Marketing, Email Marketing, Social Media Optimization, Social Media Marketing.

All these marketing techniques use the Digital devices connected to the Internet for Marketing to reach the people that are virtually present in the Internet/Digital World.

Hence all these are grouped under a single umbrella and Termed as “Digital Marketing”.

Digital Marketing Definition :

“Digital Marketing is the umbrella term that contains various marketing methods that use Internet/Digital world for marketing the value of the products to its consumers.”
